I do not think I could identify the Chinese. They came

that went on. I was told that the young Chinese had a
younger brother who was in love with a girl, and who wished
to marry her but his family disapproved of the marriage.
Then I was asked what should the brother do. I wld him
say that was not a case where I could give my legal advice.

hanged if he killed someon I said that his being under
21 would make no difference, that the death sentence would
be passed, but I added that in the case of a young man the
Goverer might remit the sentence and he might be detained
for life. I charged a fee of $5, and gave a receipt.
